Just watched this very interesting video and the author's tips on manually controlling the aperture, shutter and ISO on the Canon 5D MkII in video mode. Well worth a watch.

  2. Thanks so much for posting this. I'm going to test out the aperture trick tomorrow. Any idea how they do their color grading. Early in the video the said it was due to EOS lenses but the shot of rain toward the end looks pushed a bit. After Effects?

  3. Pleasure folks.

Tristan, no idea about the grading. It may well just be using the Canon lenses and WB properly that does it. I found in Muse the colours were amazing; not that I can grade, but it certainly didn't need to be graded. My formula was simple! Canon EOS lenses, custom WB and spot on exposure (more or less!).
I guess if it has been graded, then I guess its either Color or After Effects.

  4. Cheers for posting that Edmond. The AE lock bit is brilliant. Did they leave that out of the manual or what?

BTW. No, I didn't read it.

The bit that's interesting is the over ride for the aperture etc...
